An established brick two-story with a new freeform pool dropped into the back yard, which is to say: a swimming pool surrounded by mud, a bare shell of a deck, and a slope that drained toward the house.
BDS built the terrace around the whole pool in paver, with a contrasting border course that follows the free curve rather than fighting it, then enclosed the yard in ornamental aluminum set to code as a pool barrier. Beds were cut along the fence line and planted with a screening row, and sod was laid tight over the corrected grade right up to the deck edge.
The overhead pair on this job is the one to look at. It is the clearest single image in the whole portfolio of what a finished BDS envelope looks like from directly above: deck, border, turf, bed, fence, in that order, every line parallel to the one beside it.
