Who this is about
BDS Landscape, LLC, trading as BDS Landscape Co., a landscape installation company at 61 Doyle Road, Lindale, GA 30147, serving Rome and Floyd County, Georgia. Reachable on (706) 676-5535 or at bdslandscape61@gmail.com. This policy covers bdslandscape.com and everything BDS does with information you give it.
What BDS collects
Only what it needs to quote a job and then do it:
- Your name, phone number and email address, when you give them.
- The address of the property the work is for, and what you have told BDS about it.
- What you asked for: the services you checked, a rough budget, when you want it done.
- If you use the Dream Yard Builder: the photo of your property you upload, the upgrades, style and features you pick, what you write about the yard you want, and the designs made from them; and your name, phone number and email address, as you give them. The builder asks for your contact details before it shows you a design, and they reach BDS as soon as you give them. From then on BDS can see all of it as you work, whether or not you send a design: that you started, how far you have got, what you have picked and written, your photo, every design version and what the builder writes about each design. Until you give your details, BDS cannot see your photo or your designs. Sending a design tells BDS which one you want and adds the property address, budget and timeline you give. Each design also carries a one-way scrambled form of your IP address, never the address itself, which is how the builder limits how many designs one connection can make in a day.
- The records the job itself produces: quotes, invoices, payments, receipts, appointments, and anything you signed.
- Whether you agreed to be texted, when, and the exact wording you agreed to.
- Basic website analytics: which pages were visited, which link or search brought you, the browser, operating system and device type you are reading on, your screen size and language, and the country, state and city your connection resolves to. Section 05 describes it in full. No name, phone number or email address is attached to any of it.
- Your IP address, which every site on the internet receives in order to answer a request at all. The analytics software reads it to work out roughly where a visit came from, at the level of a country, a state and a city, and it is also what keeps the forms from being abused.
- The answer you give to the cookie notice, if you answer it. Section 05 and the cookie policy set out what it covers.
BDS does not collect payment card details on this website. Payments are taken in person, by check, or through a payment link, and the card itself is handled by the payment processor, never by BDS.
What it is used for
- Getting back to you about an estimate, and turning up to walk the property.
- Creating the Dream Yard designs you ask for, getting in touch about the project once you have started one, and putting your designs in front of the team who will quote the work.
- Quoting, scheduling, invoicing and getting paid.
- Telling you things about your own job: an appointment, a crew on the way, a quote or bill ready to read.
- Sending offers or seasonal reminders, but only if you specifically asked for those.
- Keeping the records a business is required to keep.
BDS does not sell your information. It never has and there is no arrangement under which it would. Nothing here is handed to a data broker or to another contractor. Nothing here reaches an advertising company either. There is no advertising pixel on this site at present, as section 05 sets out.
Mobile numbers and text messages
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party for any purpose. They are used solely by BDS Landscape Co. to send the messages you agreed to receive.
Consent to be texted is recorded separately from everything else: the number, the date, the page you were on and the exact words you agreed to. It is kept so BDS can prove it had your permission, and so it can prove it stopped when you told it to.
Agreeing to texts is never a condition of getting a quote or having work done. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, using the text message page, or calling (706) 676-5535. The full terms of the messaging program are in the Messaging Terms.
No advertising pixel and no other advertising measurement runs on this site at present, so no phone number and no email address typed into this site is passed to Meta or to any other advertiser. If one is ever switched on, it arrives with an update to this policy first, and it is set up with automatic matching turned off and with the server side Conversions API not used at all, so that the promise above stays true rather than merely well meant.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
BDS itself can set three cookies, and none of them is written until there is a reason to write it. One records the answer you give to the cookie notice, and it appears only once you answer. One keeps you signed in, and only if you sign in to your account page. The third keeps a Dream Yard design together while you build it, and only once you start a design in the Dream Yard Builder. None of them is shared and none builds a profile.
Page visits are counted using software BDS's web contractor runs on its own server rather than an advertising company's. It sets no cookie and stores nothing at all on your device, which is why it is on unless you turn it off. It records the page you are on, the link or search that brought you, the country, state and city your connection resolves to, your screen size and your browser's language, and the browser, operating system and device type your browser reports. It holds no name, no email address and no phone number, and nothing you type into a form here.
Each visit is filed under a session id, and that id is worth describing plainly rather than glossing over. It is not stored on your device and there is nothing about it to clear: the analytics server works it out for itself, by hashing your IP address, the browser details above and this site's own id together with a secret it keeps. Because it comes from your connection and your browser rather than from anything left behind on your machine, a later visit from the same connection and the same browser can produce the same id again, which is how a return visit is counted as one. It belongs to this site alone and cannot be used to follow you to another.
There are no advertising cookies to decide about. BDS does not run an advertising pixel on this site at present, and nothing here is shared with Facebook, Instagram or any other advertising network. There is no advertising control in the preferences panel either, which is the thing to know before going to look for one. The site is built so that one could be switched on later. If it ever is, it comes with an update to this policy and to the cookie policy, and it stays off until you turn it on yourself.
You are asked once, you can change your answer at any time from the Cookie preferences control in the footer of every page, and refusing changes nothing about the service you get. The full list of what is set, by whom, and for how long is in the cookie policy.
Who else touches it
BDS runs on ordinary business software rather than its own servers, so a small number of suppliers necessarily store this information in order to provide the service. They are processors: they hold it on BDS's behalf, under contract, and may not use it for their own purposes.
- The website and office system are hosted on Railway, with the database on Supabase.
- Email is delivered by Resend: quotes, invoices, receipts, appointment reminders, and the Dream Yard Builder's notices, which carry your design only once you send it to BDS.
- Text messages are delivered by Twilio. Twilio carries the message; the mobile carrier delivers it.
- Payment processing, where a card or bank transfer is involved, is handled by the payment provider.
- Website visit counts are held by Butler Performance, which built and maintains this site, on a server it runs itself. No analytics company is involved and nothing about a visit is sold or shared on.
- Butler Performance, which built and maintains this site, receives copies of Dream Yard requests while it monitors how the builder is working: the contact details you give the builder, what you picked and how you found it, as soon as you give them, how far you have got after that, and your design, with its photo, only once you send it to BDS.
- Photos you upload to the Dream Yard Builder, the upgrades, style and features you pick in it, and the descriptions you type are sent to OpenAI to create the design. OpenAI processes them on BDS's behalf, does not use them to train its models, and may keep them for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse.
- When the estimate form or the Dream Yard Builder checks that you are a person and not a robot, Cloudflare runs that check and receives your IP address and browser details for that purpose only.
Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim. That is the whole list.
How long it is kept
Job records, meaning quotes, invoices, payments and signed documents, are kept for as long as the law and ordinary business practice require, which for a construction contract is a number of years after the work is finished. Inquiries that never became jobs are kept while there is a reasonable prospect of the work happening, and cleared out after.
A Dream Yard design you never send to BDS is deleted, with its photos, after 30 days. The contact details you gave in the builder are not: they stay with BDS as an inquiry like any other, on the terms in the paragraph above, along with what you picked and wrote in the builder. A design you send is kept with your inquiry. Either way, the location a phone records inside a photo never reaches BDS: it is removed on your device before the photo is uploaded.
Text message consent and opt-out records are kept even after you opt out. That is deliberate: the record of your STOP is the thing that proves BDS honored it, and deleting it would leave you worse off, not better.
What you can ask for
Call (706) 676-5535 or email bdslandscape61@gmail.com and BDS will tell you what it holds about you, correct anything wrong, or delete what it is not required to keep. There is no form and no charge. Georgia does not have a general consumer privacy statute, so this is offered as a matter of practice rather than because a law compels it. It makes no difference to the answer you will get.
Children
This is a landscaping company's website. It is not directed at children and BDS does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what BDS does with your phone number will be notified to anyone signed up for texts before it takes effect.
