Landscaping in Cave Spring, GA
Limestone and spring water, which is unusual ground for this part of Georgia.
The ground in Cave Spring
Cave Spring is named for what is under it. This is karst: limestone with water moving through it, a spring that runs year round, and the sinkholes and voids that come with that geology.
What that means for the build
Karst deserves respect on anything that concentrates water or carries load. A pool, a large slab or a tall wall wants the ground actually looked at rather than assumed, because a void under a footing is not something you fix afterward.
The properties
Historic in-town lots around the spring and the college, plus farmland and acreage outside it.
What usually leads in Cave Spring
Every trade is available across the whole service area. These are the ones that tend to carry a Cave Spring project:
- Masonry & ConcreteAll applications of brick, block and stone, plus concrete work, laid by the same crew that runs the hardscape. Steps, veneer, columns, walls and the flatwork between them, built to match the house instead of fighting it.
- Hardscape & Paver TerracesPool decks, terraces, walkways and stepping-stone paths. Compacted base, screeded bedding, cut edges and a locked perimeter. The part nobody sees is the part that decides whether it is still flat in ten years.
- Planting & Bed WorkBeds cut with a real edge, laid out to the architecture rather than around it, and planted to read as intentional the day it goes in and better in five years.
All ten trades run in-house, so one crew and one schedule covers the whole job.
