A walk-out basement lot with a rectilinear pool and raised spa, terraced with broom-finish concrete and held on the upper side by a segmental block wall. Beds are cut and mulched along the privacy fence, a stepping-stone path runs down the grade to the deck stair, and the pergola posts are set.
What is not done is obvious in the photographs, which is why it is published this way: the main grade is still bare, the plant material is standing in bags where it will go, and the pergola has no roof. Turf, planting and the shade structure are the remaining phases.
Most contractors only show finished work. A job caught mid-build is the more useful thing to look at if you are trying to decide who to hire. It is the only way to see whether the base, the drainage and the wall were done properly before the pretty part covered them up.
